We’re Josh and Quentin Hastings — brothers born 19 months apart, best friends since birth, and lifelong residents of Northern Virginia.
But today, our story stretches beyond just one place.
From Northern Virginia to Savannah, Georgia — we’re building something bigger than projects and paychecks.
This is our story.
We grew up in Northern Virginia, learning early what hard work looked like.
Quentin started young — eventually running a landscape construction company while building his experience in the trades.
Josh took a different path — teaching and coaching during the school year, and working on job sites every summer.
Two different lanes. Same direction.
Even when life pulled us into different careers, we stayed close.
Construction was always there.
So was family.
In 2012, we pulled up to our mom’s house knowing something wasn’t right.
Quentin was outside. Crying.
Ovarian cancer.
That moment split life into two parts — before and after.
There’s no blueprint for that kind of news.
What followed were years of grief, urgency, and a shift in perspective. We leaned on our faith. We grew up fast. And we started asking bigger questions about what we were building — and why.
Quentin’s business worked.
Josh’s teaching and consulting career worked.
But we were building for other people.
Other companies. Other visions. Other legacies.
We knew we were capable of more — and more importantly, capable of building something together.
So we didn’t just start another construction company.
We built Kyland Cole Construction Group to serve Northern Virginia — Prince William, Loudoun, Fauquier, and Fairfax counties — with a different standard:

In 2022, life opened a new chapter.
Josh and his family relocated to Savannah, Georgia.
What started as a move for family and opportunity quickly became something bigger.
We began getting calls. Referrals. Projects.
And we realized something:

exist in Savannah too.

So instead of keeping Kyland Cole in one place…
We expanded it.
Now, while Quentin continues leading projects across Northern Virginia, Josh oversees operations, installs, and growth in the Savannah area — bringing the same standards, systems, and family-driven approach to Coastal Georgia.
Two locations.
One standard.
Walking away from stability — especially with growing families — isn’t easy.
There were long conversations.
A lot of prayer.
A lot of “what if.”
But we kept coming back to one thing:
If we don’t bet on ourselves, we’ll regret it.
So we made the leap.
We learned this early:
We don’t need to be everything to everyone.
We just need to be the team that gets it done right.

As demand grew — from Gainesville, Haymarket, and Warrenton… to Manassas, Loudoun, Fairfax… and now Savannah — we faced the same question:
